What the app does day to day
It records expenses with their payer, the people involved and the split rule. It recalculates balances on every addition, in whole cents, so nothing is lost to rounding. It suggests the transfers to make and keeps track of the ones already done. It handles several currencies when a trip leaves your usual one.
It does not move money for you and does not connect to your bank: you pay however you normally would, then record the repayment in the group.
Free, and not just as a trial
Everything a group needs to settle up properly is free: unlimited people, unlimited expenses, custom splits, balances, repayments. Someone who was invited never has to pay to join a group, add their share or settle it.
Privacy
Groups are private: their expenses are visible only to their members. Invite links expire and can only be used once. Public pages such as the calculators run entirely in your browser and send no amounts anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app?
No. Pivunio opens in your phone's browser and can be added to the home screen if you want, which makes it behave like an installed app without going through an app store.
How do I find my groups on another device?
By linking an email address to your profile. You get a sign-in link and your groups follow you. Without an email, groups stay tied to the device where they were created.
Can other people see my data?
Only members of a group can see that group's expenses. The isolation between groups is enforced on the server, not just in the interface, and nothing is sold on to third parties.
Can I run several groups at once?
Yes. A flatshare, a yearly trip, a one-off weekend: each group has its own people, currency and history, and you switch between them from the home screen.
